There are geometrics, solids, florals, animal prints, and stripes; colors range from bright neon to delicate pastels. Your comforter set should express your style, as well as be comfy to hang out with. It should be easy to wash and durable, because dorm bedding gets lots of use -- most dorm rooms don't really have chairs, so the beds are often the only available seating. This bedding will keep you warm, comfort you when you're upset or sick, and make your room look cool; so make sure you really like it!
It's important that your bedding be comfortable, and that you love it. Lots of pillows (and maybe even a stuffed animal) are good to snuggle with, and can help support you if you like to study or use your tablet or laptop in bed. If you think about how much time you spend in your room now, and add the other rooms in your house that you spend time in, you'll get the idea: the dorm room becomes your living room, as well as your bedroom and office.

I love going to Brixton Market at the weekend: having a browse and trying all the different food there, picking up fresh bread from the Sunday Farmer’s market and have particularly enjoyed Pop Brixton this summer, especially the savoury crepes from L’Amuse Bouche!3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? For me, kaleidoscope means something that is rapidly changing, something vibrant and colourful which is full of energy and continuously creating something beautiful that comes together perfectly.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? I am currently reading I Am Pilgrim, a fantastic thriller entwining the lives of a former intelligence officer and an international terrorist – I can’t put it down and would highly recommend!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? There are so many amazing TED talks that I have enjoyed, but one that stands out to me is Susan Cain’s The Power of Introverts because it really examined the social emphasis on being bold, assertive and outgoing and discusses how we should change our perspective and understand the value of introverts. In our society, I think there is bias thinking that the ideal students and employees are extroverts as opposed to introverts, and I think it is important to shed light on the positive differences between the two and strive for more of a cultural balance between the two.

And though the company is still in its infancy, Loowatt boasts huge potential to bring in more business in to the area creating even more diversity and variety to the synthesis of Brixton. “I’m pretty sure we’re the only waterless toilet company in Brixton. That’s what inspired the style of the final piece; you have to really look up close at The Chronicles of Brixton to see what it’s made up of. The question ‘what one thing would you save from a fire?‘ is quite a personal one. The answer can say a lot about a person, and often tell you things about them that you wouldn’t be able to guess. It’s about showing that no matter how we look at a glance, there’s more under the surface. We’re all different, but ultimately the same in the sense that we’re all human with our own stories.
The Chronicles of Brixton has given me a real thirst to hear more stories and I’m fascinated to find out what, if anything, would be different if I were to carry out the same project in other places. And at other times too. Watch this space!
