Browsing through various sites with home decorating ideas, reading through magazines for kitchen remodel ideas, and watching decorating shows for galley kitchen ideas will give you even more to think about when deciding to plan your own kitchen design.

Another aspect to consider when deciding on kitchen remodeling ideas is the lighting features. Proper lighting will help the area function optimally. You should incorporate a combination of ambient, task, decorative and accent lighting to enable you to serve all of your different needs. If you add the right type of lighting, your kitchen can actually appear to look larger than it actually is.

If you would like to incorporate the new stainless steel appliances into your galley kitchen ideas, some home decorating ideas you can use for a beautiful modern look can be wine cubbies above the window, dark green granite counter tops, and oak floors all work together to create a cozy atmosphere. Other kitchen remodel options for saving space in a galley kitchen are to install sliding bottom cupboards. You can also incorporate a turnstile shelving unit into a deep corner cupboard space. This will allow you to save a ton of space while it is tucked away.

Some of the important aspects to keep in mind when thinking of galley kitchen ideas, is the width of the aisle, the lighting, and the storage. when possible. If you can hide the fridge or dishwasher behind a cabinetry panel, this will give the room a tidy appearance. Other tips to use for kitchen remodel ideas are open shelving,a large pass-through window, and light colored cabinets all work to create an airy, open concept.

You can get a baby footprint rubber stamp, and other baby related stamps, you can find these at your local scrapbooking store. While you're at the scrapbooking store check out their wide array of papers and find some cute paper. When choosing paper for invitations I would choose either light colored paper or paper with a muted pattern. Once you've chosen your paper and your stamps you can just start adding your own personal design. This will almost ensure you give each person a unique invitation.

When someone decides they want to install an above ground pool seldom do their thoughts include above ground pool decks. Why? Probably because they are thinking about all the time they are going to spend in the water and lounging on a deck doesn't even cross their mind. But if you are one of those people reading this article then let me put your mind to ease now that you are probably asking yourself how much more an above ground pool deck is going to cost. Not that much more unless you want something extensive. And by extensive I mean something that reaches from the house to the deck, which would probably need to be tiered.

The other, cheaper option is to get a freestanding deck. This is a laddered platform that stands next to the pool and has enough room for one or two people to stand. It also has a ladder the leads into the pool. There is a gate around the platform to prevent anyone from falling and injuring themselves. It also has a lock for when you don't want anyone getting in the pool while you are not there. Freestanding decks are the most inexpensive and easiest to install above ground swimming pool decks available. Anything less would be a simple A-frame ladder that fits across the pool ledge.

We chose the theme because we believe this embodies what Brixton really is. We don’t believe in melting pots, we believe in salad bowls, mosaics and kaleidoscopes – things that allow individual elements to be part of a whole.

some for the first time and some regular TEDxBrixton fans who shared positive feedback about the event and revealed their own thoughts on the theme Kaleidoscopes.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? I’m a digital and product designer specialising in user experience design. My role within the TEDxBrixton team is stage design and attendee.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? Evenings at Brixton street gym with the BlockWorkout team.3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? Every time you twist the Brixton kaleidoscope a new world appears. That’s what I love about living here- it’s unpredictable, dynamic and has so many hidden facets, you just have to go exploring.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? Dominic Wilcox- Variations on normal. It’s one of my favourites. A collection of illustrations by Dominic Wilcox.5. What’s your favourite TED talk? One of the best, taught me a lot about perception and authority. Amy Cuddy’s Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are.

2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I spend pretty much every day in Brixton and still love just walking around and soaking up the atmosphere, mainly walking through Market Row, Granville Arcade and Electric Avenue.3. What’s your interpretation of this year’s theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? My interpretation is very much a visual one. Kaleidoscopes are beautiful ever-changing patterns that develop and grow without knowing what you are going to see next. I think that hugely describes Brixton. It is such a diverse place that is constantly changing. Every day I see new developments and the way things change but still fit together and work alongside each other.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? I’m reading a few! One is “Lean in” by Sheryl Sandberg which is a hugely motivational read that I would recommend to anyone. I’m also working my way through the new Gizzi Erskine “Healthy Eating” cookbook which is brilliant. I’ve just finished Lena Dunham’s “Not That Kind of Girl” which had me in stitches throughout and gave a whole new perspective on being a woman in her twenties!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? That opinion changes daily, I have the app so constantly have a look as to what kind of talk I’d like to listen to. One that really sticks out is from this year’s TED in Vancouver by David Eagleman which we screened at the Impact Hub in Brixton. It really opens your eyes to what science can do6. What’s your biggest highlight from last year’s TEDxBrixton event? I put forward Simon Parkes as someone to approach as a speaker for 2014 and seeing him on stage after weeks of developing his talk and being such a huge fan of his story and book was a very special moment, one I will remember for a very long time.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? My role within the team is Project Coordinator. I help all the teams where necessary on a variety of tasks and have been working on sourcing the merchandise for the event.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I love going to Brixton Market at the weekend: having a browse and trying all the different food there, picking up fresh bread from the Sunday Farmer’s market and have particularly enjoyed Pop Brixton this summer, especially the savoury crepes from L’Amuse Bouche!3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? For me, kaleidoscope means something that is rapidly changing, something vibrant and colourful which is full of energy and continuously creating something beautiful that comes together perfectly.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? I am currently reading I Am Pilgrim, a fantastic thriller entwining the lives of a former intelligence officer and an international terrorist – I can’t put it down and would highly recommend!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? There are so many amazing TED talks that I have enjoyed, but one that stands out to me is Susan Cain’s The Power of Introverts because it really examined the social emphasis on being bold, assertive and outgoing and discusses how we should change our perspective and understand the value of introverts. In our society, I think there is bias thinking that the ideal students and employees are extroverts as opposed to introverts, and I think it is important to shed light on the positive differences between the two and strive for more of a cultural balance between the two.

Lauren
