High school and college graduations are looming on the horizon. These are special and momentous events for both you and your graduate. Planning you graduation party should be a fun and exciting project. Don't let your graduation party get lost in the crowd; with some early planning you can host a fabulous celebration. Here are some great tips to make your party one of a kind.
For food, your options are numerous if you are hosting your graduation party at home. You can have it catered, you can cook or our family favorite for our barbeque theme is hamburgers, hot dogs and heroes. Add some salads, fruit platters and a graduation themed dessert and you have an easy, inexpensive menu. We set up a "stadium" food booth near the grill. My husband and his buddies were grilling to order, with the condiments and rolls set out at the booth. You make a poster and name your area. For example, at our party for our youngest who was going to DePaul University in Chicago.. we set up the "DePaul Dug Out" and decorated the table with the school colors. For our son, who was headed to Rutgers University, we had a "Knight Stand" as their school mascot is the Scarlet Knight. For another of our parties, I bought cases of bottled water, took off the store label and made my own personalized labels celebrating the graduates!

Where is the best place to hang out? After deciding on which place to make as the hang out spot, start stuffing it with eyecandy upholstery. Club chairs or large sofas can do the work of making that area really conducive to lounging. Ottomans or customized sectionals are great, too, just as long as you have the budget, of course. Place an armoire, too, for a more accented look for that lounging area.

When I am board at home that's when I get my most creative ideas. My niece and nephew where looking for something fun to entertain themselves and that's when I thought of making cork board ornaments. We just used some materials that we found lying around the house, it was like we where on a scavenger hunt. It's never to early to start making Christmas ornaments especially if you want to make some for gifts. Kids love being able to give gifts to, so this allows them a chance make a special gift for family and friends. These ornaments are quick and easy, we made several different ones and in less then a half hour, which is great if you have kids with a short attention span. This is a great project for kids of any age and adult to, so don't miss out on the fun.
Here are a few quick tips before you get started on your own unique ornaments. Instead of making a pattern you can also use cookie cutters to get your desired shape to. These ornaments can be a little messy especially if your little ones are helping, so you will want to have Que tips on hand in case you squeeze out to much puffy paint on your ornament. Que tips are always great for those quick fixes. You can also use other materials instead of cork board to make your ornaments for example: felt, cardboard or even scraps of wood, no need to run out and buy some cork board if you don't have any on hand. Get creative and see what you have lying around the house you will be surprised at what you can find to make fabulous ornaments.

The summer is coming to an end and students are preparing for a new school year. The excitement begins and most students look forward to doing their back to school shopping. Most, if not all, welcome the idea of being able to decorate their school lockers and spend tons of time thinking about the perfect idea. There are others, however, that do not spend as much time thinking about decorating their locker. Instead, those students want to find something quick, fast and cool to accessorize their lockers if they choose to at all.
this is an idea just perfect for girls. Buy or make a simple magnetic photo frame and decorate it with rhinestones in your favorite color. Also, you can use the rhinestones to decorate all of your locker accessories, like your magnetic dry erase board, your pencil holder, the edge of your locker shelf or even around the border of your locker mirror.
