However, not all families and houses have this type of bathroom since it's not the standard type that every family must have. On the other hand, despite being small in terms of space, you can easily make this small bathroom attractive and interesting through putting up unique designs, materials, and decor. So how can you decorate your half bath to make it comfortable and functional at the same time?

The big day: Our favourite moments!

According to over 600 attendees, TEDxBrixton 2015 certainly lived up to its expectations. Queues formed outside the Brixton Recreation Centre before doors even opened and at 1pm our founder Stephanie Busari welcomed the audience by delivering a compelling speech.

Due to their strong experience in fundraising, they create and manage the budget, raise money from sponsors and oversee our partnerships program and live streaming venues. Their work is vital to our success and development.

An incredible amount of work goes into creating a TEDx experience and TEDxBrixton is no exception. With this years’ theme being so full of colour shape, it was down to our Executive Producer and Stage Designer to visualise and create a kaleidoscopic atmosphere that works seamlessly with the iconic TED brand. From the staging and venue design to the way finding and external branding, every detail was uniquely crafted by this talented team whose knowledge of events and design ensure TEDxBrixton 2015 leaves a lasting and impactful legacy.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? I’ve been working on the mobile app for TEDxBrixton ensuring that it’s launched ahead of the event. I’m also the Ticket Coordinator ensuring that tickets are distributed and allocated. The main part of my job will be at the actual event.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? Eating! I love the Brixton Market and the wide range of food you can choose.3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? Something that is constantly changing but is still so colorful and amazing to look at. This is how I feel about Brixton and the people living in it.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? On Intelligence by Jeff Hawkins – a book about how our brain works and if it’s possible to build a machine with artificial intelligence. Very interesting!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? How great leaders inspire action –it’s about why we do things and allows us to better understand our decisions. I absolutely love it.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? My role within the team is Project Coordinator. I help all the teams where necessary on a variety of tasks and have been working on sourcing the merchandise for the event.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I love going to Brixton Market at the weekend: having a browse and trying all the different food there, picking up fresh bread from the Sunday Farmer’s market and have particularly enjoyed Pop Brixton this summer, especially the savoury crepes from L’Amuse Bouche!3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? For me, kaleidoscope means something that is rapidly changing, something vibrant and colourful which is full of energy and continuously creating something beautiful that comes together perfectly.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? I am currently reading I Am Pilgrim, a fantastic thriller entwining the lives of a former intelligence officer and an international terrorist – I can’t put it down and would highly recommend!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? There are so many amazing TED talks that I have enjoyed, but one that stands out to me is Susan Cain’s The Power of Introverts because it really examined the social emphasis on being bold, assertive and outgoing and discusses how we should change our perspective and understand the value of introverts. In our society, I think there is bias thinking that the ideal students and employees are extroverts as opposed to introverts, and I think it is important to shed light on the positive differences between the two and strive for more of a cultural balance between the two.

Tell us a bit about your background? I’m a Creative Director at a global PR and integrated communications agency. Outside of The Village and Pop Brixton, I also like ThreeEightFour and Effra Social (they do a good pub quiz on a Tuesday). What’s your interpretation of this year’s theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? For me it’s about constant evolution. About retaining beauty, despite an always changing form. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? Thrive by Arianna Huffington. She wrote the book after collapsing from exhaustion and severely injuring herself. It caused her to dramatically rethink her life, revaluating the choices she was making. Samuel and the team are passionate about helping their community hope to leave a legacy in Brixton that would help advance other youth-led brands. “My advice to local business owners is to think big and plan for success. Focus on your value proposition. Leverage your network; connect with a brand strategist and leaders in your field that can analyse your business and help you scale it to the next level.”
