Most designer kitchens opt for lightweight and sheer fabrics with steel or chrome rods. Sheer fabrics allow soft light from the sun to enter the kitchen and contribute to energy efficiency. You may choose any pattern that suits your taste. You can choose to have mid length curtains or full-length curtains, but if you want more privacy you may hang kitchen curtains made of thick fabric. Choose cotton fabrics with a printed pattern or plain in bright colors. Make sure that your kitchen curtains match the color of your kitchen flooring, wall paint or wallpaper.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? I’m the partnerships manager, which means I look after our relationships with local businesses and sponsors.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I’ve lived her for a while now and this answer changes weekly, but at the moment I love hot yoga classes at Fierce Grace, after which I stagger down the road to Lucy’ Juices for a pick me up. As I expect most people who live here say, Brixton Market is a favourite spot – Fish Wings and Tings is an institution and Dave from Market Row wines will always find you a great bottle. Oh, and Three Eight Four on Coldharbour Lane does the best cocktails I can find.3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? I’ve been working with a lot of local businesses this year and the theme has been very meaningful for a lot of people, as it represents the mash-up of old and new that Brixton is currently experiencing.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? A few! Currently switching, depending on my mood, between Tim Jackson’s Prosperity without Growth (he has a great TED talk by the way) and Michael Ondaatje’s The English Patient, which is a favourite of my dad’s, so he’s chuffed I am finally reading it.5. What’s your favourite TED talk? An all time great and one that I always pass on to others is Jackson Katz – Violence Against Women: It’s a Men’s Issue. Heavy title I know, but just a genius argument and one that never fails to spark debate.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? My role within the team is Project Coordinator. I help all the teams where necessary on a variety of tasks and have been working on sourcing the merchandise for the event.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I love going to Brixton Market at the weekend: having a browse and trying all the different food there, picking up fresh bread from the Sunday Farmer’s market and have particularly enjoyed Pop Brixton this summer, especially the savoury crepes from L’Amuse Bouche!3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? For me, kaleidoscope means something that is rapidly changing, something vibrant and colourful which is full of energy and continuously creating something beautiful that comes together perfectly.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? I am currently reading I Am Pilgrim, a fantastic thriller entwining the lives of a former intelligence officer and an international terrorist – I can’t put it down and would highly recommend!5. What’s your favourite TED talk? There are so many amazing TED talks that I have enjoyed, but one that stands out to me is Susan Cain’s The Power of Introverts because it really examined the social emphasis on being bold, assertive and outgoing and discusses how we should change our perspective and understand the value of introverts. In our society, I think there is bias thinking that the ideal students and employees are extroverts as opposed to introverts, and I think it is important to shed light on the positive differences between the two and strive for more of a cultural balance between the two.

Of her experience setting up shop in Brixton, she was surprisingly met with very little challenges and says the South London residency still offers a very ??neighbouring feeling’. “Brixton is a great place to set up an office and we recommend it to all our friends. We also love bringing people to visit our workshops and conferences.”
The down-to-earth Brixton local and her multi-national team have an office based in Brixton and a team in Madagascar who are currently rolling out a ??waste-to-value’ urban sanitation pilot system with 100 household toilets in the city’s capital, Antananarivo.
