The expansive space on the porch makes it easy to entertain guests, relax after a long day or just hang out with the children or grandchildren. These porches are normally simple in design and feature standard porch furniture, wicker style furniture, rockers, and simple tables.

You can get a baby footprint invitation kit to make the invitations. Everything will be included in the kit, the baby footprint stamp, the envelopes, the paper, everything you need. You just have to do the stamping, and some have a spot for pictures, so you'll add the picture and then fill them out. Live tweets and updates being shared on the day included quotes from some of our most inspiring speakers -like Robyn Parker, Helen Wright and Hugh Lewis, Pete Bearder and Charlotte Knowles:We were treated to incredible performances from Lil Trubz, Brandon Bennet and The Voice UK finalist Brixton’s very own Lara Lee “TEDxBrixton to me is about people coming together sharing ideas and it’s about the energy of the area. Brixton has always had a massive energy in terms of creativity and the point of having an event like this is to improve as a community,” explained Lara.
We chose the theme because we believe this embodies what Brixton really is. We don’t believe in melting pots, we believe in salad bowls, mosaics and kaleidoscopes – things that allow individual elements to be part of a whole.

1. Tell us a bit about your background? I’m the partnerships manager, which means I look after our relationships with local businesses and sponsors.2. What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixton? I’ve lived her for a while now and this answer changes weekly, but at the moment I love hot yoga classes at Fierce Grace, after which I stagger down the road to Lucy’ Juices for a pick me up. As I expect most people who live here say, Brixton Market is a favourite spot – Fish Wings and Tings is an institution and Dave from Market Row wines will always find you a great bottle. Oh, and Three Eight Four on Coldharbour Lane does the best cocktails I can find.3. What’s your interpretation of this years’ theme ‘Kaleidoscopes’? I’ve been working with a lot of local businesses this year and the theme has been very meaningful for a lot of people, as it represents the mash-up of old and new that Brixton is currently experiencing.4. What book(s) are you currently reading? What’s it about? A few! Currently switching, depending on my mood, between Tim Jackson’s Prosperity without Growth (he has a great TED talk by the way) and Michael Ondaatje’s The English Patient, which is a favourite of my dad’s, so he’s chuffed I am finally reading it.5. What’s your favourite TED talk? An all time great and one that I always pass on to others is Jackson Katz – Violence Against Women: It’s a Men’s Issue. Heavy title I know, but just a genius argument and one that never fails to spark debate.
